The Team Systems Development Process
A high performing team is not simply a machine. It is a living system with spoken and unspoken rules, vision, blind spots, expectations, disappointments, moods and a personal spirit that all impact what kind of success is possible.
The team systems development process is a discipline, just like setting performance objectives. When teams commit to developing themselves as one system, they get better results. They thrive and succeed as sustainable entities particularly in times of change and challenge.
How could your pharma or biotech team benefit from coaching?
Team Development and Coaching is a step by step process that is co-designed with the leader and then with the whole team.
Step 1: Meet with the executive leader to determine where the team is positioned presently and to co-design the organizational context for the first 1-2 day team learning and development workshop. Provide a written proposal of the pharma/biotech team coaching work.
Step 2: All team members will complete the online confidential Stellar Team Diagnostic. This is a team assessment that views the team as one system.
Step 3: The whole team participates in the team systems development and coaching workshop - learning about team as a system, and experiencing where the team is now and where it wants to go next to enhance its performance. This workshop is situated in the context of what is most important to the team for the next 12-18 months.
Step 4: Six follow-up team coaching sessions (one hour each) by phone with the pharma/biotech team. Drives accountability for shifting the system towards their performance and development goals.
Step 5: Custom design with the pharma/biotech leader an ongoing development plan for the team which may include continuing teleconference coaching, quarterly full day team coaching sessions or other follow-up learning and coaching. Most clients continue a structured approach to ongoing follow up - to keep the team focused on working as one system. This work is a discipline and requires ongoing attention to realize the full impact of the team development program.
